Rejecting the BNP’s call for forging a national anti-terrorism unity, Information Minister Hasaul Haq Inu yesterday said militants and terrorists will be stamped out from the country without having any understanding with them, reports UNB. He was speaking at a national dialogue on ‘Jangibadi Oposhaktir Udbeg o Muktijudder Bangladesh’ jointly organised by Sector Commanders’ Forum and Liberation War 71 at the Jatiya Press Club.
The minister said the only way left for protecting people of all religions is annihilating militants and terrorists. Inu also urged the civil society members not to misinterpret the recent incidents in Bangladesh.
He said these incidents did not happen due to lack of good governance, the rule of law and democratic system. “Many countries of the world where good governance, the rule of law and democratic system are practiced very strictly have fallen victims to militant attacks,” said Inu.
President of the Communist Party Bangladesh (CPB) Mujahidul Islam Selim, President of the National Press Club Shafiqur Rahman, Professor Anwar Hossain, President of BASIS Mostofa Jababr were, among others, present at the dialogue.
