Ali Reza Razu, ex-president of Jessore district Awami League, died at a hospital in the capital yesterday afternoon at the age of 70, reports BSS. Razu, who had been suffering from kidney ailments and pneumonia, breathed his last at 12.49 pm at the United Hospital, hospital sources said. A former parliament member from Jessore-3 constituency, Razu left behind his wife, two sons and three daughters as well as a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death, family sources said. The first namaz-e-janaza of Razu, also an-ex upazila chairman and poura chairman of Jessore, will be held at South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 11 am today, the sources said, adding his body will be later taken to Jessore by a helicopter. His second janaza will be held at Jessore Eidgah after Zohr prayers today and he will be buried at his family graveyard in Jessore town, the sources said. President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed deep shock at the death of Razu. In separate condolence messages, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
