RAJSHAHI: More than 3.32 lakh children under five years of age will be administered vitamin 'A' Plus capsules on National Vitamin 'A' plus campaign-2016, today in the city and nine upazilas of the district, reports BSS.
The campaign will begin from 8am in 2240 centres simultaneously and continue uninterruptedly till 4pm.
A total of 1744 outreach vaccination centres will be set up by Rajshahi Civil Surgeon office.
Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) will set up 384 centres including 343 permanent ones in its all 30 wards to carry out the programme.
Over 1152 volunteers and health workers of RCC would be engaged for giving vitamin 'A' Plus capsules to the children aged from zero to 5 years in the city corporation areas.
Besides, 5486 volunteers will carry out the works in nine upazilas of the district.
RCC and Civil Surgeon Office authorities revealed the information in two separate press conferences here on Thursday.
Acting Mayor of RCC Nizam-Ul Azim addressed his press conference as focal person while Ward Councilor Ashraful Hassan, Chief Executive Officer Syeda Zebinnissa Sultana and Chief Health Officer Dr AFM Anzuman Ara Begum supplemented him.
