The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested a former accountant of Dhaka Zila Parishad in a case filed for swindling Tk 21 lakh from a project, reports UNB ACC deputy director Sheikh Abdus Salam arrested Golam Mustafa (now accountant of Noagaon Zila Parished) from the capital, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. On October 2, 2015, the national anti-graft agency filed the case against him with Motijheel Police Station for allegedly misappropriating over 21 lakh from a project of Dhaka Zila Parishad. Earlier, the ACC also filed seven cases against Mustafa for allegedly plundering money from different projects of the Zila Parishad.
