Tk 1cr foreign currencies seized

Customs officials seized foreign currencies worth Tk 1 crore from a man at Benapole check post in Jessore yesterday, reports UNB. Tipped off that Bangla­deshi national Farid Hasan was entering the country along with foreign currencies, customs officials searched his bag, said Joint Commissioner Mustafizur Rahman of Benapole Check Post. Later, they seized 93,449 US dollars, 3.53 lakh Indian rupees and 49,000 Canadian currency from the bag.
However, they could not arrest Farid as he somehow managed to flee.
