‘Militant’ held in Gaibandha

Gaibandha: Police in a drive arrested a suspected militant, foiling bid to hold a clandestine meeting, from Mohdipur Government Primary School in Palashbari upazila early yesterday, reports UNB. Tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid on the school building where a group of people thronged for holding a clandestine meeting and arrested Mannan Mia alias Imam Bipul of Mahipur village while others managed to flee. Police also recovered some Jihadi books, posters and leaflets from the spot. After primary interrogation, Mannan confessed that he was leader of ‘Allahr Dal’, said Mujibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Palashbari Police Station.
