Woman drowns in Satkhira

SATKHIRA: An octogenarian woman drowned in a pond under Satkhira municipality on Wednesday, reports BSS. The victim was identified as Sokina Begum, 89, wife of late Sekander Ali of Satkhira municipal area. Victim’s son Tamijuddin said his mother went to Boddhapur Coloney pond to take bath, but she slipped into the pond from the bank of the pond. The locals and relatives retrieved the floating body of the elderly woman from the pond after several hours of her missing, he added.
