Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam B. Sc. yesterday firmly said that recent militant attacks in the country would not affect export of manpower to other countries, reports BSS.
“We have sent 6,88,954 workers abroad with employment since July 2015 and we expect over 7 lakh workers would go overseas this year,” he said at a press briefing at his ministry.
The minister briefed newsmen on completion of his job successfully during the last one year as the minister. Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Begum Shamsun Nahar also spoke and highlighted various sides of manpower export issue.
Nurul Islam said manpower export to Saudi Arabia and Lebanon from Bangladesh will not be affected by the recent militant attacks at Gulshan cafe and Sholakia Eidgah ground.
