National University gets new Pro-VC
Dr Hafiz Md Babu, former founder chairman of the Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering department, joined National University of Bangladesh as Pro-Vice-chancellor (Academic) for 4-years trener.
Prof Hafiz Md Babu has obtained his PhD degree in computer science and electronics in 2000 under Japanese govt scholarship. He also obtained MSc Degree from the Czech Government Technical University of Bruno. Meanwhile, he worked in the Janata Bank as its IT consultant and as General Manager of Information Technology and Management Information Systems Department. Besides, he was advisor of the supreme court of Bangladesh under World Bank project.
Vice-chancellor Harun-Or-Rashid, Pro-Vice chancellor Md Aslam Bhuiyan, Treasurer Md Noman Ur Rashid and all departmental head were present on this occasion.
Rangpur Medical College Hospital gets new principal
Renowned surgeon and Head of the Department of Surgery of Rangpur Medical College and Hospital (RpMCH) Professor Dr Syed Md Abu Taleb joined as the new Principal of Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) on Wednesday.
Professor Taleb took over charges of his new office at a ceremony from outgoing Principal renowned medicine specialist and Head of the Department of Medicine of RpMCH Professor Dr Zakir Hossain. Before taking charges of the new office, Professor Taleb conducted his responsibilities as the Vice-principal of the same college. Professor Taleb, also a Fellow of Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS), has a long career of professional physician as a renowned surgeon with huge reputation.
After completing his MBBS course in 1982 and subsequent in-service training, Professor Taleb joined at the Department of Surgery in RpMCH in 1984 and worked there as Assistant Surgeon till 1987. During his long career, he joined as the Assistant Registrar (Surgery) at RpMCH in 1992, as Registrar (Casualty) in Dhaka Mitford Sir Salimullah Medical College and as Assistant Professor (Surgery) at RpMCH in 1999. Later, he joined as Associate Professor (Surgery) of the Department of Surgery at RpMCH in 2011 and was promoted to the post of Professor Surgery) in 2013.
