Moviyana Film Society and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) have jointly organised a 17-week ‘Asian Cinema Retrospective 2016’ in the BSA premises from tomorrow. The festival will screen a total number of 65 films from 19 countries.
Asian Cinema Retrospective will kick off tomorrow at 3pm at the International Digital Cultural Archive Room of National Theatre Hall, BSA with the screening of film ‘Ghuddi’ directed by Syed Salauddin Zaki.
In the film, Suborna Mustafa will be seen playing the title role of the film ‘Ghuddi’, while Raisul Islam Asad will be seen opposite her and Syed Hasan Imam as her father. The other important casts of the film includes Nasiruddin Yousuff, Golam Mustafa, Tariq Anam Khan, Happy Akhand and others.
Besides screening of the film, the Retrospective will feature discussions on Asian films and noted Asian filmmakers tomorrow.
The Retrospective sessions will take place on Friday and Saturday from 3 to 8pm. Every week three films will be screened alongside discussions.
‘Asian Cinema Retrospective’, which includes the films of 19 countries—Bangladesh, India, Japan, South Korea, China, Iran, Pakistan, Thailand, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Malaysia, Palestine, Iraq, Vietnam, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, will be held as a part of ‘Biswa Chalachitra Anudhabon Kormosuchi 2016’.
