Tourist Park to be set up in Netrakona

NETRAKONA: Netrakona Zila Parishad has taken a project to set up a tourist park by the side of Rajdhala beel (wet-land) under Purbadhala upazila of the district, reports BSS.
Netrakona Zila Parishad office sources said the ministry of tourism has approved the project.
The source also said the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) has allocated Tk one crore 47 lakh to implement the project.
Under the project, the tourist park will be set up on 15 square kilometers area beside the Rajdhala beel.
Ten entrances, one kilometer of walk-way will be constructed by the side of the beel and CC blocks will be installed around the walkway.
Apart from this, a foot over bridge and sitting arrangements for 50 to 60 tourists will be constructed.
Administrator of Netrakona Zila Parishad Motiur Rahman Khan said the construction of the project will start sometime in the current month and is expected to be completed within a year. He also said the long-cherished demand of local people will be materialized and country’s tourism area will be expanded further after the implementation of the project.
