BCB beefs up security at SBNCS

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stepped up their security measures at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) yesterday as precautionary steps.
As part of security, the security guard of the stadium has been furnished with arms, scanner, walkie-talkie and hand metal detector. Along with that, the free movement of the people has been controlled.
The main gate of the stadium (No.2) has been allocated for the car and the narrow gate of it has been for the bypassers.
 Ansar, who guarded the stadium gate, allowed a car after being examined by their scanner and hand metal detector. BCB directors, players, BCB officials and journalists have been allowed to enter into the stadium after checking.
In this regard, Mohammad Ali, coordinator of BCB security committee, said that they have done it by the directive from the board to avert any possible untoward incident.
“We have strengthened our security measures to avoid the uncalled-for incident. The system earlier was here. But we didn’t follow it. But we will strictly follow it from now,” said Mohammad Ali.     
 “Such type of the security will be seen around the stadium. We have taken such measures to think of the security of the players, officials and journalists,” Ali told in response to a query.
It is learnt that the shops of the north-west of the stadium meanwhile has been vacated due to security grounds before the extra-security step is slapped.
The board has been set up so many close-circuit cameras around the stadium. BCB security coordinator said in this regard, “We’ve set CCTV. Along with that, we have demanded to buy the new CCTV to boost the security measures.”
“We will increase the number of the guards and give 30 more walky-talky to surveillance the entire stadium area,” Ali also said.
 After the recent terror attack at the Holey Artisan Bakery and O’ Kitchen Restaurant in Gulshan that killed 22 persons including foreigners and locals. Thereafter, the security has been beefed up across the country.
