Mamunul Islam, captain of the Bangladesh national football team, evaluated the newly appointed head coach Tom Saintfiet as a friendly and a man of very strict personality during his practice session.
Mamunul, when talking to the reporters before  beginning the practice yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium said that the coach is very much easy understanding, as replying to a query the captain said, “Actually, if I talking about the recent past coach Kruif (Lodewijk De Kurif), it was took time to realise him, as he was looked very incensed, though day by day he became easy, but Saintfiet very much easy going.”
The coach before to start his very first session on Tuesday cleared it to all the players not to hide anything to him – “In fact the coach in his first speech to us before the training session explained not to go for practice with injury and not to hide any kind of problems and to inform him straight if any. But if it would be proved that anyone violated the instruction and would go for practice with injury, there would be no mercy and it would be counted as an indiscipline conduct”
“What I have seen in the last two sessions he enjoyed the training sessions, it’s something special character. From right now he is giving importance to technique and tactics to overcome the Bhutan hurdle, as he already began to chalk out what would be our plans against Bhutan,” said Mamunul.
“He watched our matches, we played before and found that despite playing with better ball possession we lost, so he analyzed and told to change some techniques, as he told us that it is possible to score with only three touches, would have to try to finish as early as possible.”
“Though the technique is almost same but there will some changes in formation as he wants to play with two strikers while earlier we played with one striker.
Replying to a query Mamunul said, “It is something difficult to fully weigh up about any coach with two days training sessions but what I have done with new coach, it seemingly almost similar style of the European coaches, a little bit different to Latin.”
“He could motivate the players within one day that we will have to highly concentrate to win the match against Bhutan, that is only match which can change our football,” said one of the most experienced players Mamunul.
