Bandarban: Five days after going into hiding in the face of violence and threats from the local terrorist groups, at least 70 families backed home their homes at Betchhara in Rowangchhari upazila on Monday, reports UNB.
The families of Talukdar Para took the decision to return to their homes after a temporary army camp and a police camp were set up in the Talukdar Para in a bid to provide security to the families.
A meeting on ‘anti-terrorism’ was held in Talukdar Para on Monday noon.
Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Banik and police super M Mizanur Rahman, among others, were present at the meeting.
On July 5, local people arrested a terrorist when an armed group went to Talukdar Para and demanded extortion money, and handed him over to police.
Later, at least 70 families left their homes as the terrorists had been threatening them following the arrest.
