Four people, including three policemen, were sued in connection with the killing of retired army man and freedom fighter Abdul Bari in Jamalpur.
Sub-inspector of Jamalpur Railway Police Station Kawsar Ahmed said Mizanur Rahman Mukul, elder son of the slain freedom fighter, filed the case with the police station at around 9 pm on Tuesday.
The accused are Officer-in-Charge of Jamalpur Railway Police Station Gaura Chandra Majumdar, constable Tapan Barua, Assistant Sub-inspector Sohrab Ali nd ticket collector of Jamalpur Railway Station Anisur Rahman.
On Monday, Abdul Bari, 65, a retired army man and a resident of Hatchandra village in Jamalpur Sadar upazila, was killed as he was allegedly beaten and hit by members of railway police at the railway station. Jamalpur Railway Stationmaster Mohammad Tarek and OC Gaura Chandra were withdrawn from their duties after the incident.
Later, Jamalpur Freedom Fighters’ Forum announced to observe a two-day protest programme demanding punishment of the killers.
