Temple monk hacked

Cox’s Bazar: A monk of a Rakhain temple was hacked allegedly by another monk over a land-related dispute at Maillapar in the district town early yesterday, reports UNB.
The injured monk was identified as Open Bita, 75.Officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Bakhtiar Uddin said Mo Ian, a monk who was earlier attached to the temple of Open Bita, had been in a dispute with him over the ownership of a piece of land. As a sequel to this, Mo Ian snuck into the temple around 5:30am and hacked Open Bita indiscriminately, leaving him severely injured. On information, police rushed in and sent the injured monk to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
