RAJUK flat buyers to get low-interest loan from StanChart Bank

Interest rate will be 8.5 per cent for highest 25-year installments

Standard Chartered Bank will give low-interest loans to those interested to buy flats under the apartment project of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (RAJUK), reports BSS.
To this effect, an agreement was signed between Standard Chartered Bank and RAJUK at the meeting room of housing and public works ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat yesterday.
RAJUK Chairman M Bazlul Karim Chowdhury and Standard Chartered Bank Chief Executive Officer Abrar A. Anwar signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain was present on the occasion.
According to the deal, Standard Charted Bank will give the buyers of RAJUK flats or plots loans at a rate of 8.5 per cent interest for highest 25-year installments. A tripartite agreement will be signed involving RAJUK, Standard Chartered Bank and the buyer concerned regarding this. Speaking on the occasion, Engineer Mosharraf Hossain said all physical infrastructures, including a waste treatment plant, has been ensured at RAJUK's apartment project area.
An agreement has been signed with Standard Chartered Bank so that the   interested people can buy the RAJUK flats easily, he added.
The minister said the construction of 8,636 flats of RAJUK apartment project at Uttara sector 18 is nearing completion. The allocation of those flats will begin in December, he added.
The per square feet price of the 1,557-square feet flat will be Taka 4,800, he said and added that bank loans will be available for the highest 70 percent of the total price.
The minister said under RAJUK's apartment project, 15,636 flats will be constructed at Uttara sector No. 18 while 11,000 at Jhilimil and 6,000 at Purbachal. This project will be expanded further in future, he added.
Housing and Public Works Secretary M Shahidullah Khandaker was present at the function, among others.
