Authorities of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport beefed up its security following current terrorist attack in the country.
Airport sources said that the number of Armed Police Battalion (ABPn) has been increased; two check posts have been set up at the entry point of the airport.
“Security of the Shah Amanat International Airport has been tightened. The number of ABPn has been increased from 250 to 300,” said Arefin Jewel, additional deputy commissioner (Immigration) of Chittagong Metropolitan police. “Security has been beefed up at airport after the attack of Gulshan’s Holey Artisan Bakery.
Overall airport security measures have been strengthened. All the on-duty employees asked to be alert,” said Wing Commander Reazul Kabir, airport manager.
