“From the very beginning Gaan Bangla TV channel has been trying to work out with all new ideas. In connection with that aim, we were planning to arrange a unique show bringing the local artistes and foreign musicians together on one stage. To transform the plan into reality, we had to take a plenty of time. But the bond--which has been created among the local and foreign artistes through the show, it will be stand out as a milestone in our music scene’, Kaushik Hossain Taposh, chief executive officer and National Film Award winning musician said about the show ‘Wind of Change’ that created a huge buzz among the both musicians and listeners of the country after airing on Gaan Bangla TV.
‘Wind of Change’, undoubtedly a very unique as a musical programme from all aspects, was aired from Eid day to fourth day of Eid on the country’s only HD music channel, Gaan Bangla. Popular artistes of the Bangladesh music scene such as Ayub Bacchu (LRB), Shafin Ahmed (Miles), Fahmida Nabi, Bappa Mazumdar, Kuddus Boyati, Pantha Kanai, Balam, Habib Wahid, Tanmoy Tansen (Vikings), Sharmin Sultana Sumi (Chirkut), in collaboration with various foreign musicians took part together in this special programme produced by Kaushik Hossain Taposh and Farzana Munni under the banner of TM Production. The foreign musicians who performed alongside the renowned local artistes are Anton Davidyants (Bass Guitar) and Anna Rakita (Violin) from Russia, Nelli Bubujanca (Drums) from Latvia and Mohini Dey (Bass Guitar) from India. Professionals from India’s ‘MTV Unplugged’ and ‘Coke Studio’ worked as sound engineers for the entire programme.
The local artistes performed their notable tracks throughout the show, alongside the foreign artistes on the instruments. Celebrated musician Habib, who performed his hit single ‘Bhalobasbo’ in the show, said, “Through this programme, we got the opportunity to perform with foreign artistes. This is undoubtedly a matter of joy. This is how the music of our country and its popularity will be spread across the globe and this was such a platform”.
The performances, which are now available on YouTube, have also garnered immense praise and admiration from the music aficionados of the country, and have also been shared on Facebook as well.
