The number of subscribers of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (REB) has reached to 15.6 million people until June 2016, says a press release.
In line with the Vision 2021, REB has taken up a number of activities at hand including construction of new power distribution lines to bring the whole population under power supply, the statement said.
During the last month, 1 lakh and 59 thousand new subscriptions were added across the country.
REB Chairman Maj Gen Moin Uddin has thanked all the employees of Pally Bidyut Samities (Rural Electricity Societies) for the achievement, the statement added.
