Over 95 thousand children, aged between six months and five years, will be fed Vitamin A-plus capsules under a national campaign in Gazipur city on July 16.
Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) is providing training to the health supervisors, employees and volunteers to success the campaign. A total of 95377 will be fed vitamin ‘A’ plus capsules in 57 wards of the city. GCC authority disclosed the information at a meeting with local journalists held at its auditorium yesterday morning.
A total of 11,130 children, aged between six and 11 months, will be given the blue-coloured Vitamin A capsules while 84,247 children, aged 12 to 59 months, will receive red-coloured capsules. Total 54 supervisors, 113 health employees and 768 volunteers will serve the capsules at 256 centres, 6 permanent centres, 13 mobile centers and 13 mobile teams from 8 am to 4 pm on July 16. Secretary of GCC Mohammed Aslam Hossain, medical officer of Gazipur civil surgeon office Dr Kazi Mohammed Atikul Islam, food and sanitation officer of city corporation Momtaz Begum were present in the programme.
