United efforts for curbing terrorism, militancy stressed

RANGPUR: Noted Olama-Mashaekhs, Islami thinkers and Imams here yesterday called for united efforts of the people from all walks in life to resist secret killings, terrorism, militancy and conspiracies against the country, reports BSS. They made the call at a post-protest procession rally organised by Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) at its auditorium in the city on the occasion of ‘Eid Reunion-2016’ for creating mass public awareness to resist terrorism and militancy.
Earlier, hundreds of Khatibs, Imams and Muajjins of different mosques, Olama-Mashaekhs, officials and common people participated in the huge rally brought out in the city streets as elsewhere in all upazilas in the district and the country as a whole.
Later, Rangpur Divisional Director of IFB Alhaj Md Abul Kalam Azad presided over the post-protest procession rally.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Thana ABM Zahidul Islam, Pesh Imam of Rangpur Central Court Jam-e-Mosque Moulana Md Zahidul Islam, President of district unit of Imam Samity and Islami Thinker Moulana Md Joynul Abedin, addressed among others.
The speakers strongly condemned the recent militant attacks and killings of innocent people at Gulshan and Sholakia, terrorism, militancy, secrete and targeted killings and fundamentalist extremism in the country.
They put emphasis on forming ‘Para’ and ‘Moholla’ based committees throughout the country for further strengthening the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in resisting militancy, terrorism and secret killings to establish permanent peace in the society.
The speakers also called for united efforts of the common people irrespective of their caste, creed, religion and profession to create stiff resistance against the evil forces involved with terrorism, militancy and secrete killings.
