Anti-terrorism bodies to be formed to resist militancy, terrorism

KHULNA: Speakers at an anti-terrorism protest rally here yesterday called for forming anti-terrorism committees across the country to resist militant forces and terrorists to ensure a peaceful society, reports BSS.
They also called upon the pro-liberation forces and Muslim religious leaders to build united resistance against the militants and terrorists.
They were addressing the protest rally organised by the Awami League(AL)-led Khulna city and district unit 14-party alliance held at the Shaheed Hadith Park. Coordinator of 14-party alliance of Khulna and general secretary of city unit AL Mizanur Rahman Mizan, MP, was in the chair.
As part of the countrywide programme, the 14-party alliance of Khulna, earlier decided to hold a protest rally today in protest against the recent militants attacks at a Gulshan Cafe and Kishorgonj and secret killings across the country.
Conducted by the member secretary of 14-party alliance of Khulna and general secretary of Khulna City unit JSD Khalid Hossain, the meeting was addressed, among others, by city unit Awami League  president Talukder Abdul Khaleque, district unit AL president Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, City unit National Awami Party (NAP) president Fazlur Rahman, City unit Sammyabadidal president F M Iqbal, city unit AL joint secretary Sarder Rajob Ali, Khulna Workers Party leader Delwar Uddin Dilu, general secretary of Zaker Party Golam Nabi Masum and president of Sadar thana AL advocate Saiful Islam.
The speakers also said the militants have no connection with the mass people of the country and the persons involved in atrocities were the enemies of humanity.
They said the people are united against terrorism and militancy and there will be no place for the terrorists on the soil of Bangladesh.
Calling upon the masses to repose confidence on the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the speakers said, "We contained the fire-terrorism of Khaleda Zia in the past and we would be able to
resist the militants and terrorists this
time too."
The meeting also announced that anti-terrorism committees will be formed from July 12 to 21 at every union, ward, upazila, city and district of Khulna.
Anti-terrorism rallies will also be held from July 24 to 31 in the district in presence of central leaders of the 14-party.
Later, a protest procession was brought out from the Shaheed Hadith Park that paraded main streets in the city.
