Man arrested with firearm in capital

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested an alleged notorious criminal along with firearm from Mohamadpur area in the capital Sunday night.
Deputy Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) (DB-East) Mahbubur Rahman acknowledged the matter to The Independent yesterday.
Jewel Rana, senior assistant commissioner of DB, who led the operation, said the arrestee was identified as Jamal Uddin.
Getting secrete information, a team of Dedcetive Branch (DB) raided a house under E-Block in Mohamadpur area of the capital.
“After searching the house, we seized a sophisticated pistol and ten round of bullets from the house and arrested Jamal in this connection”, he added.
During the primary interrogation, he disclosed the names of his associates who are drug traders, said AC Jewel adding that Detective Branch (DB) is hunting them.
A case was filed in this connection.
