The executive body of the National Environment Committee yesterday reviewed the ‘National Environment Policy 2015’ and incorporated nine issues in the draft policy in order to make it time befitting.
The issues which are incorporated in the policy are—air, hill ecology, conservation of biodiversity and ecology, security of biodiversity, ecology friendly tourism, combating impact of climate change, disaster management, chemical materials management, control of other pollutions and economic development.
The executive committee meeting was held at the secretariat with Environment and Forests Minister Anwar Hossain Manju in the chair.
Among others, secretaries from the environment and forest, agriculture, water resources, disaster management, shipping and representative from different concerned departments also attended the meeting.
