Magura: An activist of Awami League was hacked to death by his party rivals at Chatkabari in Shalikha upazila on Friday night following a dispute over establishing supremacy, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Abdul Jalil Mollah, 50, a resident of Natopara village. OC of Shalikha Police Rabiul Islam said Jalil had been at loggerheads over establishing dominance in the area with his party rivals. On Friday night, supporters of Jalil locked into an altercation with their rivals over a trifling matter. At one stage, they hacked Jalil with sharp weapons around 8pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
