The Czech Republic visa application centre in Kunming went into operation the other day, increasing the total number of foreign visa centres in the city to 12.
The new visa centre is authorised to issue short-term Schengen visas valid for up to 90 days, including tourism, family, business and transit visas. Applicants can expect to receive their visas within 10-15 days, and once approved, they can visit 26 Schengen countries.
This year, 12 European countries including Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Spain and Sweden have set up visa application centres in Kunming, bringing the Spring City closer to the world.
European countries have set up visa application centres in Kunming because of its position as a pivot of China’s opening up to South and Southeast Asia, as well because the city plays a pivotal role in the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative.
