NILADRY ADHIKARY : May 24th marked the end of SD Asia’s 12-Week Entrepreneurship Bootcamp. After 12-weeks of intensive entrepreneurship workshops, 9 startups got the opportunity to pitch in front investors and professionals. It was a privilege to meet some of these passionate individuals who want to change the country with their dedication and brilliant ideas.
Sometimes it’s very difficult to find professionals who are willing to take care of the technical writings of an organisation. Shabby technical documents are not new to readers and editors. Golatech, a startup that helps businesses in documenting technical writings.
SD Asia speaks with Tania Ali, founder of Golatech, to know more about her business and services. We have asked her some questions about her startup and her experience of attending the bootcamp. So here’s what she said:
Tell us a bit about Golatech?
Golatech is a startup that consults and creates IT documentation solutions to help companies with over 50 employees solve communication gaps and inefficiencies with six sigma analysis to ensure the better overall functioning of the client’s company.
How did you come up with such a unique idea?
I wanted to start a business, and it just so happened that my background in technical writing led me to believe that such a startup will be essential for businesses in Bangladesh. I saw this opportunity and realised my potential to help businesses with solving their problems of technical writing.
What would be some of the biggest challenges that you faced up until now?
Well, one of the biggest challenges that I faced was actually explaining the necessity of proper technical documents. It was very difficult for me to let the people know what they don’t know. Making people understand, the global importance of proper documentation was one of my biggest challenges up until now.
What would be your definition of success?
Currently my definition of success would be recognition and value for the services that I wish to provide. To me success would also mean the availability of a large client base from which I can pick and choose.
How was your experience at the Bootcamp?
I thought the bootcamp was very valuable in that I learned exactly how to set up a lean startup. The hands on experience were extremely valuable and what was most valuable to me was the aspects of marketing, financial and how you should pitch your ideas to an investor.
Among the bootcamp participants, whose idea did you like the most?
Well, there were two startups that inspired me the most and they were Dutch Water Partners and Umbrii. I believe both of their ideas are quite interesting and I am hoping that they will be able to successfully build on their ideas.
Do you have any advice for young aspiring entrepreneurs?
My advice to the aspiring entrepreneurs would be that, just do it. Don’t think about it a lot, just follow your heart and go ahead with your ideas.
