Kushtia: Police recovered the throat-slit body of a young man from Mirpur village in Kumarkhali upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Hannan Sheikh, 32, a resident of Boalia village in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah district.
Ziaur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kumarkhali Police Station, said Hannan went out of his house for Boalia Bazar in Shailakupa upazila in Jhenaidah and did not return home on Sunday night.
Local people spotted the body of Hannan lying in a field at Mirpur village in Kumarkhali upazila around 10:30am yesterday and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately, officer-in-charge Ziaur Rahman added.
A case was filed with Kushtia Sadar Police Station in this connection.
