2 local, 2 joint venture set to hit cinemas in Eid

Eid-Ul-Fitr is just round the corner, a number of Bangla films have already lined up at the box office to be released countrywide on the occasion of Eid- Ul-Fitr.
Popular actor of Bangladesh film industry, Shakib Khan is one of the main attractions among the moviegoers on the Eid celebrations. This is the right time, when he usually comes up with his big budget movie. Making no difference with the previous occasions, Shakib Khan’s three films ‘Samrat: The King Is Here’, ‘Shikari’ and ‘Mental’ will be released this Eid in more than 200 cinema halls across the country.
Popular pair Shakib and Apu Biswash-starrer most awaited film ‘Samrat: The King Is Here’, directed by Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz will be released in more than 90 cinemas. The film also features Misha Sawdagar and Indian actor Indraneil Sengupta in lead roles. The film narrates the fall of two notorious underworld mafia leaders. In the film Shakib Khan has played the title role, where he will be seen as the leader of a Bangladeshi organised crime syndicate operating from Malaysia.
Shakib Khan-acted joint venture film ‘Shikari’, produced by Bangladesh’s Jazz Multimedia and Eskay Movies of Kolkata will also hit around 90 cinemas this Eid. In this film Shakib Khan has paired up with celebrated Tollywood heroine Srabanti for the first time. The film also features Amit Hasan, Kharaj Mukherjee, Shupriyo Dutta and Rahul Dev in supporting roles. The film opens with the narration of the early days. Deeply affected by an abusive father and death of mother, Sultan runs from home to arrive at Calcutta and begins his life by doing small jobs. Sultan meets a man who takes him and raises him like a son. The film will also be released in India on 12 August this year.
On the other hand, director Shamim Ahmed’s film ‘Mental’ will be released in 187 cinemas in this Eid, where Dhalywood hero King Khan has paired up for the first time with actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha.  Produced by Parvez Chowdhury under the banner of Banglaxpress Films, the film also stars Achol, Sabrina Porshi, Misha Sawdagor and Shimul Khan in supporting roles. In the film Tisha will be appearing as a news reporter, while Moushumi Hamid will perform an item number with the song ‘Khaina Jonab’.
Another Indo-Bangladesh joint venture film, starring Jeet and Nusraat Faria Mazhar in lead roles, will be released country wide in more than 60 cinemas. Directed by Baba Yadav and produced by Eskay Movies and Jaaz Multimedia, the story evolves around a boy who always wanted to be a don from childhood.
