Different City Corporations, district administrations and all others concerned have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival for the Muslims, in the city with due fervor, joy and enthusiasm.
Staff Reporter adds from Barisal: A total 136 Eid congregation will be held in Barisal city this year. Barisal City Corporation (BCC), district administration have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the Eid.
The main Eid congregation in Barisal will be held on Hemayet Uddin Eidgah Maidan at 8.30 am with participation of the BCC Mayor and other socio-political personalities, high-ranking government officials as well as general mass and female worshipers. Maolana Sharfuddin Beg, Khatib of Jamme Steamer Ghat Masjeed, is scheduled to lead the congregation. Barisal City Corporation will arrange the main Eid congregation here.
Double Eid congregation will be arranged at Baitul Mokarram Mosque, Jamme Kashai Mosque, Police Line, Fakir Bari Mosque and Eabaidullah Mosque between 8.30am and 10am.
Other main Eid congregation of the city will be held in Law College, BM College, Rice Research Institute, Amanatganj Power House, Zilla School, BM College, Harinafulia, Jailgate, Puran Bakla, Bazar Road, Brown Compound, Sikdar Para, Sagordi Bazar, Roads and Highways, Chandmari, C and B, Khan Sharak, Gorasthan road Anjumane Hemayete Islam, Kazipara, BM School, Khaza Mainuddin, Kashipur High School, Steamer Ghat, A Kader Chowdhury School Ground, Natun Bazar, Battala, Tablig Jamat Markaj, Kawnia Akon Mosque, Sadhur Battala Ground, Mahmudia Madrasha, Sagordi Madrasha, Kashipur, Hatkhola between 8am and 9.30am on Eid day. Barisal central Eidgah authority started its decoration work from yesterday.
BSS adds from Rajshahi: The main Eid jamaat (congregation) will be held on Shahmukhdum Central Eidgah Moidan at 8.30 am and Muhtamim of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali will conduct the prayer.
The second largest ones will be held at Shaheb Bazar Zero point and Tikapara Eidgah at the same time. Some other main Eid jamaats will be held at Tikapara Eidgah Moidan, Rajshahi Court Eidgah, Rajshahi Stadium, Shalbagan Eidgah, Rajshahi University, New Market Jame Mosque, Police Line Math, Upashahar Eidgah Moidan and Rajarhata Jame Mosque. Over 150 Eid-ul-Fitr jamaats are scheduled to be held at the traditional and temporary venues in the Rajshahi metropolis under the supervision of the respective Eid jamaat committee. To make the city's Eid congregations successful, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is facilitating necessary decoration arrangement to around 70 Eid jamaats. The RCC, local administration and some of the Eid jamaat committee sources said preparations are almost complete under the auspices of all the authorities concerned.
Besides, the city corporation will decorate all the main city roads and islands with national flags and banners inscribed with "Eid-Mubarak" in Bangla and Arabic.
BSS adds from Rangpur: Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC), district and police administrations have completed all preparations to hold the main Eid-ul-Fitr jamaat at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Maidan at 8 am on the Eid day.
Alternatively, the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregations will be held twice at Rangpur Court Jam-e-Mosque at 9:30 am and 10:30 am in the city if the weather remains unfavourable. Besides, the first Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at Police Line Ground in the city at 7:45 am. The decisions were adopted in a special meeting held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner recently.
With Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar in the chair, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Dr ATM Mahbubul Karim and Additional Police Super ABM Zakir Hossain also addressed the meeting.
The meeting decided for holding the Eid-ul-Fitr congregation amid specially ensured security measures peacefully throughout the district, including the divisional city.
