Tigers join near and dear ones to celebrate Eid

Sports Reporter

With the Muslim’s biggest religious festival Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, the cricketers started preparing to make their holiday grand by spending the day with their near and dear ones.
All of the national cricketers and the cricketers, drafted into the 30-member preliminary squad for the home series against England, had already reached their home, leaving the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium empty.
Last year most of the national cricketers couldn’t join their family during the Eid holiday as the home series against South Africa was going on. So this year the holiday is special for them, specially when no cricket beckons them.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the captain of Bangladesh limited over cricket, as usually will spend the day with his friends and family at Narail, a place where he was born and which is the core of his heart. Mashrafe likes to spend the day with his friends with some bizarre activities and fun during Eid.
Tamim Iqbal is in now Chittagong, his home town. He is the youngest member of the famous Khan family in Chittagong. His elder brother Nafis Iqbal also played for Bangladesh national team. Tamim though started staying in Dhaka permanently; he never misses to spend the Eid holiday in Chittagong.
For Shakib Al Hasan it is another Eid to spend without family. He is now in West Indies for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Normally his wife accompanied him in Caribbean Islands when he goes there since she loves the country for the cynic beauty. But as their daughter is little now, his wife was unable to accompany him this time.
Pace sensational Mustafizur Rahman was in forlorn mood last year’s Eid since he had to spend that Eid without his family. This year there is no problem as there is no cricket. Injury came as blessings for him in fact. If he remained fit, he would have played the English County cricket at the moment. However he is expected to join his side Sussex on July 13, after spending the Eid holiday with his family.
Mushfiqur Rahim hails from Bogra and it’s now wonder he will go the birthplace to make his Eid colourful. His brother-in-law Mahmudullah Riyad, another national cricketer is now in his hometown Mymensingh with his family.
Mominul Haque had already reached Cox’s Bazar while Rakibul Hasan, Jubair Hossain Likhon will be in Jamalpur during the Eid. Fast bowler Rubel Hossain is in Bagerhat, wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan is in Khulna while another fast bowler Al-Amin Hossain is in Jenaidah at the moment to spend their Eid holidays with their family.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed however is in Dhaka. Taskin, resided at city’s Mohammadpur area, was born in Dhaka indeed. Suhwardi Shuvo, Shamsur Rahman Shuvo will also be in Dhaka during the Eid holidays.
