A court here yesterday placed Bakhtiar Alam Rony on four days' remand in connection with killing two persons by shooting indiscriminately at Eskaton Road in the capital city, reports BSS.
Dhaka's Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman passed the order upon a seven-day remand prayer by the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Auto-rickshaw driver Yakub Ali and rickshaw-puller Abdul Hakim suffered critical bullet wounds as Rony, son of lawmaker Pinu Khan, fired indiscriminately from a black Prado car at Eskaton Road on April 14.
The drivers later succumbed to their injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Monoara Begum, mother of the deceased Hakim, filed a case with Ramna Police Station accusing some unknown persons to this end the next day.
Soon after, being entrusted with the charge of investigation into the case, the DB police arrested Rony and his driver Imran Fakir from their Elephant Road house on may 31.
