AL founding anniv observed in Khulna
KHULNA: Khulna city and district unit of Awami League (AL) jointly observed the 66th founding anniversary of the party on Tuesday with fanfare and festivity.
To mark the day AL chalked out elaborate programmes that started with hoisting of the national flag as well as the party flag atop its local office. The leaders and workers placed wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
A colourful procession was brought out in the city. A large number of workers and leaders of the party took part in the procession which paraded through main roads in the city. Later, a discussion was held in the afternoon at the party office. The meeting was presided over by district unit AL and administrator of Khulna district council Sheikh-Harun-ur-Rashid.
The speakers said the AL under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is steering the nation towards progress and prosperity with a view to building the country as Sonar Bangla free from hunger and poverty as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
