The branches of the banks in commercial areas and around shopping malls and marketplaces will remain open on July 2, 3 and 4 (Saturday, Sunday and Monday), according to a circular of Bangladesh
Bank (BB) issued last week, reports BSS. The central bank in another circular directed all the commercial banks to keep their branches open from July 8-9 those are situated in the customs houses and custom facilities of the country.
In the circular, BB said that the bank branches in the custom houses in Chittagong, Mongla, Benapole, Pangaon and Kamalapur ICD, Dhaka will remain open for the two-day for facilitating import and export related activities.
The central bank issued the circular on demand of the trade-bodies to facilitate businesses necessary banking transactions ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr and during the Eid holiday.
BB in the circular also suggested the banks that they should keep their respective branches open with ensuring adequate security.
