FARIDPUR: Erosion of river Arial Khan in Sadarpur upazila of this district has taken a serious turn with the rise of water river Padma as well as its tributary river Arial Khan, reports BSS.
According to Upazila office sources, during last few days about five hundred people of seven tiny villages situated on the bank of the river have been affected when their homesteads and arable land eroded in the river.
The source said that as the erosion is still continuing some educational institutions including Madrasha, government primary school, mosque have come under threat.
Upazila officials including chairman, UNO and other officials on Thursday visited the affected areas and assured the affected people for immediate relief and other supports.
