Protesting the killing of Hindu monastery attendant Shyama Nanda Das, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) yesterday said such killings are taking place one after another in the country as part of a conspiracy, reports UNB.
In a joint statement, CPD president Mujahidul Islam Selim and its general secretary Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed strongly condemned the killing of Shyama Nanda Das Babaji, an attendant of Modhupur Kastsagra Radha Madan Gopal Moth at North Kastasagra village in Jhenidah Sadar Upazila.
They said the worry about security of public life mounted with the killing of Shyama Nanda Das which took place within one month after the murder of Hindu priest Ananda Gopal Ganguly in Jhenidah.
“The actual reasons behind the killings are political. The killings occurred one after another as part of conspiracy,” said the statement.
“The forced disappearance and secret killings continue ... The killers remain at large. The government’s silent role encourages the killers. The extreme communal groups have become desperate as the government is pampering them,” the statement read.
