Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday called upon the scouts to be alert to fulfill their commitment through making hassle-free journey of homebound people marking the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, reports BSS.
"Work more than speaking. Everyone will have to meet their commitment," he said while addressing as the chief guest at a ceremony on "Road volunteer orientation" at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh auditorium in the capital.
The minister said a total of 1,000 scout members will perform as volunteers along with law enforces from this morning to the first morning of holy Eid-ul-Fitr in the city's 16 important points to make hassle-free journey of the home goers.
Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary M A N Siddique presided over the function while Senior Secretary of Home Affairs Ministry M Mozammel Haque Khan and Disaster Management and Relief Secretary M Shah Kamal, among others, were present on the occasion.
