The National Committee to Protect Shipping, Roads and Railways (NCPSRR) urged the government to take strict steps to ensure security of homebound people ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, reports UNB. In a joint statement on Friday, NCPSRR adviser Manzurul Ahsan Khan and its general secretary Ashis Kumar Dey also demanded the government to conduct mobile court drives in all inter-district bus terminals, railway stations, and river ports, including Sadarghat terminal, Mawa and Paturia ferry ghats, to avoid passenger s’ hazards. The statement said, ahead of holy Eid, a large number of people are going to their near and dear ones by waterways, roads and railways.
The leaders of the committee also urged the government to involve the district and upazila administrations to oversee the transport management.
