Mob ransacks power office in Charfassion

Hundreds of infuriated people ransacked West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd (WZPDCL) and Palli Bidyut offices in protest against continuous load shedding during the holy month of Ramzan in Charfassion of Bhola on Tuesday evening.
In-charge engineer Shobuj Dey of WZPDCL, Charfassion said they have no substation there, but they get power from Palli Bidyut Samity and supply them to Charfassion. The consumers attacked their office and vandalised its furniture, computers and other electronic appliances of the office, he added.
They also attacked Palli Bidyut office and barricaded the Bhola–Charfassion Road by burning tires, sources said.
Officer-in-charge of Charfassion police station Abul Bashar said police brought the situation under control. Additional police were deployed at these office premises, he said further.
