10 burnt in Comilla gas cylinder blast

Comilla: Ten people sustained burn injuries in a fire incident caused by gas cylinder explosion at a shop at Gouripur Bazar in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
Of the injured, five people, including Saddam Hossain, 25, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Among them, condition of Saddam was stated to be critical. Officer-in-charge of Daudkandi police station Mohammad Abu Salam Miah said the fire originated from a gas cylinder blast at the shop of ‘Saudia Refrigerator’ in the market at about 8pm and soon engulfed adjoining four shops, leaving 10 people burnt. The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up to Tk30 lakh.
