Road crash kills three in C’nawabganj

Three people were killed in a road crash in Piling Square area on the Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid highway under Shibganj upazila yesterday morning.  
The deceased were identified as Serina Begum, 35, wife of Abul Kalam Azad of Azmatpur village in Shibganj upazila, her son Emon, 10, and Jakera Begum, 39, of the same area.
OC (Investigation) of Shibganj police station Chowdhury Ahmed Zobayer said the accident occurred when a truck hit a three wheeler from opposite direction in the area at about 8.30 am, leaving human hauler passenger Serina Begum dead on the spot and two others injured.
Injured Jakera and Emon succumbed to their injuries at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in the afternoon, he added.
Police detained the truck and its driver Tofazzal Hossain.
