Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday handed over four buses to the capital's two educational institutions where she studied in her early life, reports UNB.
Sher-e-Bangla Girls School and College in Tikatuli area and Azimpur Girls School and College received two buses each donated by Nitol-Niloy Group.
The Prime Minister handed over the keys of the 36-seated buses to the heads of the institutions at a function at her official residence Ganobhaban.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Education Secretary Sohrab Hossain, Chairman of the Nitol-Niloy Group Abdul Matlub Ahmad and senior officials of the Prime Minister Office, Education Ministry and Nitol Group were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister recalled the memories of school and college life in the two schools, and urged the authorities to make arrangements of playgrounds so that their students can take part in sports.
Sheikh Hasina studied in Sher-e-Bangla School from class III to VI and later she completed her secondary, higher secondary and graduation from Azimpur School and College.
The Prime Minister assured them of providing all supports for the development of these two institutions.
She also urged the principals of the two institutions to ensure proper maintenance of the buses so that their students can avail themselves of transport facility for a long time.
