NARSINGDI: Young generation must be saved from drug addiction by creating mass awareness and launching social movement against drugs, speakers said this at a discussion held on Sunday in observance of the ‘International Day of Preventing Drug abuse and Smuggling’ reports BSS.
District Administration and Narcotics Control Department jointly organised the event at local Shilpakala Academy.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Rahanuddin presided over the meeting. Police Super of Narsingdi Amena Begum spoke on the occasion as the chief guest.
Principal of Narsingdi Government College Prof. Mohammad Ali, Inspector of District Narcotics Control Nazmul Hossain Khan and others spoke on the occasion.
Speakers underscored the need for building a drug free society by creating public awareness.
They also stressed combating drug trafficking, drug business and to protect young generation from drug abuse. Police Super Amena Begum called for launching social movement against drug abuse.
