Man held with yaba tablets
Police arrested a young man with 1,700 yaba tablets at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital yesterday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Elias Hossain, 22.
Rafiqul Islam, sub-inspector of Kamalapur GRP police station, said police challenged Elias, a passenger of intercity train ‘Turna-Nishita’ that had arrived at the railway station from Chittagong, for his suspicious movement around 8:35 am yesterday. Later, the law enforcers recovered 1,700 yaba tablets after searching his body. A case was filed in this connection.
2 vermicelli factories fined
A mobile court yesterday fined two vermicelli factories in Kamrangirchar area and fined Tk 2 lakh each for making adulterated vermicelli.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-10) conducted a drive in the area around 12pm and found adulterated vermicelli at ‘Nasir Semai Factory’ and ‘Shahin Semai Factory’.Later, the mobile court fined the two factories Tk 2 lakh each.
