SUST teachers continue demo

A faction of pro-Awami League teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) continued their demonstration programme demanding resignation of the university’s vice-chancellor Professor Aminul Haque Bhuyan.

Source said the teachers under the banner of ‘Mohan Muktijuddher Chetonay Udbuddho Shikkhak Parishad’ yesterday locked the main entrance of VC office and administrative building-2 at around 8:30am and started to observe sit-in programme. The officers and staff could not enter the building since morning and could not take part their regular routine work. On the other hand, VC Aminul Haque did not come to office yesterday. 
The two administrative buildings were locked till filling this report. The agitated teachers said the office will put under lock and key till office time over.
On April 23, VC Prof Aminul Haque Bhuiyan went on a two-month leave amid movement of a pro-Awami League teachers’ panel demanding his resignation.
