A signature campaign was launched in the capital yesterday to create awareness among the youth about drug abuse and illicit trafficking, reports UNB.
The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Dhaka, LIFE and UNYSAB jointly organised a campaign on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This year’s theme is ‘Listen First’.
Joint Secretary of Public Administration Ministry Mahmud Hassan spoke as the chief guest at the event moderated by officer-in-charge of the UNIC, Dhaka Mohammad Moniruzzaman.
Programme coordinator of UNODC Bangladesh ABM Kamrul Hassan, executive director, LIFE Kamrul Islam Sony and President of UNYSAB Mohammad Mamun Mia, were present as special guests.
Students from different universities in Dhaka were also present at the event to share their views pledged to work as ambassadors against drug abuse and trafficking.
The signature campaign will continue both online and in different academic institutions.
