Ambassador-designates of Czech Republic, Mali, Mongolia and Portugal to Bangladesh separately presented their credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban yesterday, reports UNB.
The all non-resident envoys are Milan Hovorka of Czech Republic, Niankoro Yeah Samake of Mali, Gonchig Ganbold of Mongolia and Joao da Camara of Portugal.
Welcoming the ambassadors, the president assured them of overall cooperation in discharging their duties and hoped that they would play their due roles in strengthening the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and their respective countries. He advised the envoys to frequently visit Bangladesh. President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
Mentioning that the socioeconomic condition is gradually improving here and the country has already graduated to a lower middle-income nation and will become a developed one by 2041, President Hamid advised the envoys to expand trade and investment relations of their countries with Bangladesh. There are many untapped areas in Bangladesh, the president said, adding that new areas will be opened up if those untapped areas are explored.
He also underscored the need for exchanging visits of business delegations and high officials of Bangladesh and those countries in this regard.
The envoys said they would continue to put efforts to enhance the bilateral relations with Bangladesh and sought president’s cooperation in discharging their duties. Secretaries concerned to the president were present.
