Two persons, including woman, were killed when a boundary wall collapsed on them at Railway Gate of East Madarbari in Sadarghat area yesterday at around 10am.
The deceased were identified as Kusum Akhter, 40, wife of Md Monirul Haq, a local resident of East Madarbari and Sudhir Chakrabarty, 35, hailing from Noakhali district.
Due to rainfall the wall was collapsed, said police.
The accident took place when Kusum Akhter was waiting for her son at around 10:30am. Kusum Akhter died on the spot. Fire fighters rescued Sudhir Chakrabarty and sent him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH). The on duty doctor pronounced him dead, said CMCH sources.
The bodies were sent to CMCH for autopsy, said Mohammad Mainuddin, assistant commissioner (Kowtali Zone) Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).
