Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday said his ministry has no exact data about how many online-based television channels, radio stations and newspapers are there in the country, reports UNB. The minister said this while responding to a tabled starred question from Mohammad Elias (Cox’s Bazar-1) in Parliament that the government has taken a step to formulate a policy, ‘Online Mass Media Policy’, for these online media along with enlistment. He said the aim of this move is to bring them under rules and regulations, and create a sense of responsibility among them. Inu said the government has already published a notice asking online television channels, online radios and online newspapers to submit applications.
